JAX Tyres unveils industry-firsts, hints at international growth

Heritage Australian automotive franchise, JAX Tyres has unveiled a series of industry-firsts aimed at future-proofing its franchisee network.

The new strategy sees the brand roll-out charging stations, announce new growth and implement an immersive new training program nationally

Speaking with Inside Franchise Business, JAX Tyres CEO Steve Grossreider said the massive undertaking was a proactive approach to the evolving automotive sector.

“We definitely see diversification through EV and autonomous vehicles as good thing for the automotive industry,” Grossreider said.

“We’re already taking steps to ensure JAX Tyres is ahead of the market in providing those solutions for customers in this space and JAX believes this fits well with our current operating model.”

Since the start of the year, JAX Tyres has established EV charging stations in a number of stores across the country.

“These stations are part of a 2019 nation-wide roll-out to future-proof our stores in partnership with electric car utilities experts, EVolution,” Grossreider said.

“This is the latest development in our exciting coast-coast expansion and growth in the electric energy space.”

For JAX, which operates over 80 locations across the country, digital innovation is at the heart of the operation.

Grossreider believes the first step in ensuring JAX Tyres franchisees continue to prosper is education.

The CEO has announced the introduction of full-training facility constructed within the Sydney head office; a replica of a JAX retail store.

“This year saw an upgrade to our existing omni-channel as we continue to focus and invest in providing an enhanced customer experience throughout our network and more focussed training for our franchisees,” he said.

“That will allow regular structured training for our franchisees and to ensure all franchisor staff are trained around supporting the franchisees with our CX strategy.”

“In addition, we will be making significant investments in ensuring our network is fully equipped and our franchisees are trained to service and maintain new vehicle technology including the emerging electrical vehicle market.”

The latest network innovation and implementation comes after a series of milestone openings for JAX.

Earlier this year, the heritage automotive franchise opened its first Western Australian store, with Grossreider suggesting international expansion is the next big step.

“In 2019, JAX Tyres’ business strategy will focus on two key areas: firstly to expand nationally with our JAX installation footprint to maximise our digital omni channel and then explore international with strategically selected expansion opportunities,” he said.
