Burrito Bar’s first drive-thru unveiled

Burrito Bar is upping the ante with a brand new outlet that combines a host of firsts, including being the brand’s launch drive-thru location.

It is also the first time a previously online-only sibling brand joins the Mexican outlet in a co-brand set-up.

Shaun Butcher, GM, Burrito Bar, told Inside Franchise Business “It was our first ever three-brand location, inclusive of our fifth Sweet Republick ice-cream kiosk and our first Smokin Ribs & Burgers restaurant (which is the evolution of our existing virtual restaurant brand).

“It is also our first drive-thru, servicing both Burrito Bar and Sweet Republick customers.  All three brands have proven unbelievable popular with the Griffin Community, with our opening on Monday, 19 April breaking our all time opening record.”

Burrito Bar is on a roll. The Griffin, Brisbane, venue is the fifth new Burrito Bar location to open in the last few months.

Heading up the exciting  new concept is the Peregian Springs franchisee.

Eight of the 10 sites scheduled to open across ACT, NSW and Queensland are franchised, offering either two or three brands on site. Three of the locations will be drive-thru.

Butcher said it makes sense for franchisees to tap into the multiple revenue streams in a mulit-brand site.

“While we are more than happy to do a single concept site, franchise partners are seeing the potential benefits and profitability of having multiple brands built into the same location,” he said.

“However, this is all done with only a very minor increase in set-up and operating costs, mostly due to the single highly efficient kitchen out the back preparing meals for multiple concepts.”
