Domino’s postponed-wedding free pizza is helping 100 couples mark what would have been their wedding date with a cheesy celebration.

As thousands of Aussies have had to postpone their nuptials due to COVID-19 the pizza chain has plans to provide a pizza party for two for a lucky few.

Domino’s Australia and New Zealand CEO Nick Knight said the pizza chain was always looking for new ways to provide customers with joyful experiences.

“Months of saving and planning goes into organising a wedding – but it’s all worth it when you finally get to marry the person you love and celebrate with your closest family and friends.

Say ‘I dough’ with free pizza

“Thousands of Aussie couples were within weeks of their special day when the pandemic hit – forcing them to change their plans almost overnight, with some having to postpone their wedding for more than 12 months.

“Now, they will likely spend what would have been their wedding day at home, physically distanced from the ones they love.

“We know that pizza can’t solve all the world’s problems, but if there’s one thing it can do, it’s brighten-up a bad day,” Knight said.

“We want to give those who have had to make the emotional decision to postpone their wedding something to smile about and remember during this difficult time.”

This loved-up announcement comes just months after the pizza chain created an exclusive pizza- shaped engagement ring and helped two pizza lovers get engaged

The competition ends 28 May 2020. Entrants need to explain in 250 words or less when and where their wedding was supposed to be, and why pizza would help cheer them up.
