Poolwerx’ biggest sales month shows double digit rise

Poolwerx has turned November 2020 into its biggest sales month on record, with retail outlets hitting a 23 per cent rise in revenue.

Overall the pool service brand has boosted sales year on year by 15 per cent.

The stay-at-home Covid culture and the current focus on staycations has helped drive Aussies to upgrade and renovate their homes and backyards with home-improvement loans averaging $63,188 according to Suncorp Bank lending data.

Poolwerx chief operating officer, Nic Brill, said this Covid-fuelled home-services boost has been good for the pool service franchise.

“We’ve been the recipient of this home cocooning trend since March, and it’s great to see our franchise partners in Australia and New Zealand capitalise on this opportunity even before summer comes in full swing.

“More than 80 per cent of the network is already ahead of budget for the financial year, which is also testament to the strength of our network and processes, which allow franchise partners to focus on running their business on the ground – generating sales and providing stellar customer service.

“It’s great to see our network of small family businesses come out on top.”

Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia have surprisingly been responsible for the greatest growth with a 30 per cent uplift year on year. There’s also been double digit growth in average transaction value in November.

Our Black Friday pool blankets campaign proved particularly popular as people look for ways to save water and prevent evaporation during the summer. But I have no doubt December figures will be just as promising,” Nick said.

He credits the strength of the network, and the support, as a competitive advantage for franchisees.

“Our diversified approach and business model, working across retail and servicing, provides partners with multiple revenue streams which can safeguard your business against troughs within the different sectors.”

Franchisees can build a business as a retailer, or start as a single operator in a van and build up to multi-store empires.

Great field support helps business owners achieve their goals, and Poolwerx’ Phil Colburn has just been named the top Field Manager of the Year in the franchise industry’s Excellence in Franchising awards. A second gong for a marketing campaign gave the brand a double win this year.

A true homegrown Aussie brand, Poolwerx was founded in Australia 27 years ago and now boasts 160 retail outlets and 600 mobile vans in more than 350 territories across Australia, New Zealand and the US.
