Four stores delivering a $1million+ revenue each – it’s no wonder Evelyn and Peter Vogel from Poolwerx Indooroopilly have scooped this year’s top award from the business.

The pool and spa servicing chain loves to recognise top performing franchisees at an annual gala awards event, and this year it’s been a record-breaking 12 months for the brand.

The 2020-21 financial year saw overall business turnover rise 10 per cent above forecast and a sales uplift of 12 per cent year on year.

The annual awards, held online this year because of pandemic restrictions, recognise online awards event recognised businesses and individuals across a range of categories, including technical, brand, retail, mobile, B2B and innovation excellence.

Evelyn and Peter, who oversee one of the largest Poolwerx footprints in Australia, were named Franchise Partner of the Year .

The couple employs 18 staff, has four modern retail stores and nine vans operating across Indooroopilly, Chapel Hill, Kenmore and Moggill and has plans to further expand within Brisbane’s western growth corridor.

Peter Vogel said “We’re thrilled to be recognised as Franchise Partner of the Year after a challenging yet opportunity-filled year.

“When we set out on our Poolwerx journey, we wanted to achieve not only financial security for us but also create employment for others, working with an organisation that was fair, reasonable and committed to supporting personal growth and development.

“We feel like we have accomplished this and so much more, and this would not have been possible without the hard work and outstanding contribution from our team and the wonderful ongoing support received from Poolwerx.

“We’ve grown, not because we’ve been leaner or more aggressive, though that is part of it. But what drives profitability is taking a holistic approach to every client’s installation, both commercial and residential.

“We’re not just servicing pools and spas, we’re modernising existing equipment, rejuvenating maintenance systems for commercial customers and restoring pool surfaces and its surroundings for a variety of clients. We’ve blended an appetite for growth with technical expertise that goes well beyond the traditional pool servicing model,” he said.

The Vogel’s exemplify a new generation of franchisees joining Poolwerx, with strong business backgrounds and a passion for helping people.

John O’Brien, Poolwerx CEO and founder, praised the brand’s franchisees across the network for their ongoing tenacity and determination despite the challenging circumstances that they’ve encountered again this year.

“All our franchise partners, including those awarded this year, are outstanding examples of what can be achieved when you provide ongoing excellence in service, dedication to client support and the ability to evolve, adapt and deliver through constant improvement,” John said.

“These awards give us a chance to celebrate the effort, determination and success of all of our Franchise Partners, as well as their teams, and their ongoing efforts to provide industry-leading service despite interruptions and difficult scenarios.”

Other awards were given for Store of the Year, Technical Excellence, Rising Star Award and Franchise Women of the Year.

Poolwerx was founded in Australia 29 years ago and is the world’s largest global pool service franchise with over 160 retail outlets and 600 mobile vans in 350+ territories across Australia, New Zealand and the US.
