RP Vending’s focus on flexibility

Sarah Stowe

RP Vending Systems is Australia’s largest and longest established vending machine supplier (established in 1995) and has helped over 1000 AustralianÕs realise their business dreams.

What has been a success story for your franchise in the last 12 months?

The last 12 months has seen RP Vending Systems grow substantially. Six months ago we launched our new machine the RPM6-Combo. This machine is making it possible for more people to start their own vending machine due to the affordability. This machine creates convenience with excellent merchandising presentation, greater product selections, larger capacity, faster delivery process and reliability all at an affordable price.

In the last 12 months we have secured some large corporate locations for our operators to install their vending machines in (at no cost to them). Large corporations such as ANZ, TABCORP, Kennards hire and Sheraton on the Park have all had multiple RP vending machines installed in the last year. Gathering sites likes these ensures that our operators have very profitable businesses. We have also launched a new website; www.freevendingmachines.com.au as a way of securing more sites for all RP operators.

How many franchisees do you have?

We have 1000 plus operators Australia wide. In the last year we have grown substantially in South Australia and WA.

What is your point of difference from your competitors?

We are a business opportunity rather than a franchise and we do not have any ongoing fees. Once you purchase a machine it is your own business to run as you like. We offer ongoing support at no cost. When you purchase machines from us you are also supported by RP Vending’s complete Business Start Up System, we find sites for all of your vending machines, provide you with training and grant you access to our wholesale partners.

What is your strategy for growth over the next two years?

Over the next two years we plan on focusing on getting bigger and better sites for our operators.

What is the focus of your marketing/advertising campaign/spend this year?

This year the focus is on gathering more sites for our operators. We have had an RP Rescue Pack campaign targeted at large companies and increased our advertising in business to business magazines. Our advertising is now focused around our new website www.freevendingmachines.com.au.

How do you manage ongoing training – is it face to face or online?

Our ongoing training is done both face to face and online. Every three months we hold product information sessions and technical training sessions in all states; we pride ourselves on offering outstanding support. We also offer online training through the members-only section of our website and advice is given to operators in our monthly newsletters.

What will it cost to set up a franchise in your system?

Packages start from $33,000.
