A $2 million refurbishment of the Quest Docklands Serviced Apartments in Melbourne has been revealed with 133 restyled apartments and a new business centre.

The upgrade includes faster Wi-Fi internet connections and improved meeting facilities to meet the demands of the corporate travellers who stay at the venue.

Brendan du Kamp, general manager of Quest Docklands, said “The majority of our guests are travelling for business and our offering needs to provide a balance between offering a comfortable ‘home away from home’ as well as providing the facitlities they require to work productively and efficiently.

“The newly restyled aparments with enhanced business facilities will further strengthen our position as a premium accommodation provider in the precinct at a time when demand is increasing.”

A number of high rise office developments are due for completion mid 2013 and 2014 and are expected to fuel demand for accommodation.

And the massive overhaul of the apartments has benefited the St Vincent de Paul Society too, with Quest Docklands donating all of the replaced furniture, bedding and electrical equipments including TVs and audio visual equipment to the charity.

The apartments have been restyled to better suit business travellers

St Vincent de Paul Society state president Tony Tome said “We were delighted when Brendan came to us with this offer. A donation this size of goods that are great quality is something that doesn’t come along very often and something we can put to excellent use”

The charity will use the items to meet requests for welfare assistance and any surplus items will be sold through Vinnies Centres with the profits used to fund local welfare work.
