Poolwerx urges parents to take pool safety into their own hands

Poolwerx and Royal Life Saving are encouraging pool owners to be safe by taking advantage of a free safety check list. This comes with the recent release of the Royal Life Saving Drowning Report 2008, revealing that 27 children drowned this year alone.

CEO of PoolWerx, John OÕBrien, wants to work towards zero drowning and hopes the revelation of these statistics shocks people into taking more precautions. “I find it horrifying to think that many of these tragic drownings could have been prevented.

“The health checks include identifying potential access points and hazards that could lead to a child getting past the fence, and considering we supply these for free there really is no excuse for people not to take action to protect their family,” continued O’Brien.

Parents can either download the checklist from www.homepoolsafety.com.au or call PoolWerx and a technician will come out to perform the checks.

OÕBrien added, “Our partnership with Royal Life SavingÕs Keep Watch Program ensures every pool we check is meeting safety standards and we are up to date with any changes in regulations.”
