Poolwerx adds exclusive spa range to franchisee income stream
Poolwerx is giving franchisees a new sales opportunity with the introduction of a spa range, exclusively designed and manufactured for the pool service and retail business.
The new line taps into the growing spa trend – more than 12,000 hot tubs are sold annually in Australia.
John O’Brien, Poolwerx CEO and founder, said the company had proactively sought a spa partner to increase retail opportunities for the business after market research indicated a potential for growth.
“Thirty seven percent of industry sales came from pool and spa sales last year, and with Australians building bigger houses over the past decade the average block size has fallen, impacting on the decision to install the large pool like we saw 15 to 20 years ago,” he said.
“People are either choosing smaller plunge style pools or looking at spas and swim spas as a great alternative to maximise space. The Banff Spas range is based on data regarding the most popular models sold over the past few years, so our range will offer five to eight people configurations.”
The Banff range was created for Poolwerx by leading manufacturer Spa World.
“We have spent a long time working with our supply partner Banff on designs and creating a brand people can relate and aspire to. Banff was the perfect solution because the sales model can adapt quickly with our growing footprint. Many others we approached were unable to manage this aspect.”
Banff will be accessible to the Poolwerx network throughout Australia and New Zealand first, but was designed to appeal in the US when the company eventually launches Banff Spas brand in this market as well.
“This is a great new sales avenue for the company. Our 102-strong network of franchise partners across Australia and New Zealand can choose to be dealers or referral partners,” O’Brien said.
To celebrate the official product launch, Poolwerx will also be giving away a Banff Mt Fifi Spa package valued over $10,000.
