New blood in Franchise Council’s board elections

Jim Cornish, CEO of mobile car wash franchise Ecowash Mobile International, and Michael Paul, founder and CEO of Pack & Send, a one-stop-shop custom packing and freighting service franchise, have been elected to the National Board of the Franchise Council of Australia.

Also recently elected as state chapter presidents are Elisabeth Ritchie, partner at HWL Ebsworth and heading up New South Wales Chapter and Mark Langford, CEO of Gametraders franchise, who is president of South Australia’s Chapter.

The national board for 2010 is as follows: George Yammouni, CEO Bathroom Werx – chairman; Diana Williams, founder, Fernwood Women’s Health Clubs – deputy chair; Tony Melhem, franchisee, Harry’s CafŽ de Wheels and Franchising columnist – deputy chair and chair of the Franchisee Forum; Stephen Giles, partner, Deacons – chair legal & ethics committees; Rod Wakefield, CEO, The Coffee Club – chair education forum; Jason Gehrke, CEO, Franchise Advisory Centre – chair suppliers forum; Dean Salomone, managing director, Franchise Careers – president Victorian chapter; Elisabeth Ritchie, partner, HWL Ebsworth – president New South Wales chapter; Ralph Edwards, CEO, Lease1 – president Queensland chapter; Mark Langford, CEO, Gametraders – president South Australia chapter; Mike Stringer, CEO, Car Care Australia – president West Australia chapter; Steve Wright, executive director, Franchise Council of Australia; Jim Cornish, CEO, Ecowash Mobile International; Michael Paul, CEO, Pack & Send.

Kate Johnson, director of Ordium, has decided to step down from her role as chair of the Women in Franchising (WIF) Forum and her replacement will be announced shortly.
