Debb Meyer has won the FCA Franchise Woman of the Year award for 2013. Debb told Franchising, “It’s an honour to be recognised among such accomplished women. I hope we can continue to see women shine.”

Her career in franchising includes 13 years at McDonald’s, and she has clocked up experience with FoodCo, Krispy Kreme and the Franchise Relationships Institute. Over the years she has engaged with at least 40 brands.

Now Debb is working as a strategic adviser with her husband Chris to build the global Narellan Pools business but family comes first.

“It’s definitely a challenge leading an international company with a young family, but the things worth having aren’t always easy and I thrive on the challenge,” Debb says. “I wouldn’t change my work load for anything.”

Her professionalism is testament to the company’s success says Narellan Pools franchise general manager, Andrew Latta.

“Debb’s contributed invaluable experience and knowledge to the Narellan Pools strategic business development, and is in possession of an abundance of qualities that deserve recognition, “ he said.

“With Debb’s input, Narellan Pools has seen significant changes in the way we operate to become a better, smarter business,” he added.

Debb hopes to use the recognition to inspire other women to be the best they can be.

“The award is testament to the great things women can achieve. It’s my hope women develop the self-belief they need to achieve their dreams.”
