Subway is celebrating the opening of its 100th next-generation flagship restaurant.

The new-look Subway Ultimo in Sydney joins 99 other restaurants that have transformed with a bright new design that focuses on the provenance of Subway’s fresh produce.

It’s 23 years since Subway Ultimo opened and 16 years after the outlet’s last remodel. So it’s more than due a restaurant transformation.

The sandwich chain is celebrating hitting this major milestone in its global brand transformation.

The transformation program boasts a wide range of modern features designed to encourage guests to rediscover eating fresh with Subway, featuring vibrant décor and wall art, curated music, digital menus, new flooring and comfortable seating, as well as the convenience of USB charging ports and free Wi-Fi.

Subway Australia country director, Chris Churchmichael, said “In the past 18-months we’ve revitalised our core ingredients with 20 new or improved ingredients, expanded our menu and launched our next-generation restaurant program.”

Last year the franchise giant signed a strategic partnership with delivery platform Uber Eats in a move to tap into the burgeoning demand for takeaway deliveries.

The lunch specialist also revved up its menu with an overhaul of the food options in 2019.
