Inside Western-Sydney’s street-food lane opportunity

Nick Hall

An innovative dining precinct set to deliver a ‘new day out’ for western Sydney visitors is currently seeking Expressions of Interest from unique food and beverage operators.

Eastern Creek Quarter is the latest development from Fraser Property Australia, promising locals a super-neighbourhood centre with a supermarket, range of specialty stores and services, a children’s play area and other community amenities.

Bolstered by a unique street-food lane concept, the hunt is now on for bold, exciting and above-all, delicious food retailing concepts to showcase the very best of western Sydney.

“We’re not after one-size-fits-all operators,” said Tim Moore, general manager, retail leasing, Frasers Property Australia.

“At Eastern Creek Quarter, we’re looking to create the most talked about place in Sydney’s west. This means creating a vibrant, unique and exciting food and beverage offer in the most comfortable, sustainable environment imaginable.”

“We’re looking for operators whose vision is aligned with ours, and we look forward to discovering the new food concepts and tenancy designs that this EOI campaign draws out.”

For franchise food and beverage operators looking to diversify their portfolio of sites, the Eastern Creek Quarter project presents a rare opportunity to enter the western Sydney market at a time when high growth propensity is brewing.

The Eastern Creek Quarter catchment is predicted to grow rapidly as the Sydney outer suburbs develop, with the area just a 15 minute drive for 330,000 people and a 30 minute drive for more 1.2 million Sydney-siders.

“With a design and tenant mix curated specifically with the needs of the local community in mind, the vision for Eastern Creek Quarter is to create an exciting blend of retail shops, entertainment options, community areas and a unique dining hub to provide something truly different for the people of western Sydney,” Moore said. _

The proposed street-food lane will include six to eight tenancies approximately 30sqm to 40sqm in size, buoyed by an alfresco entertaining deck, designed for event and function-use.

Anchored by key tenant Woolworths, the new precinct will also provide locals with a gym, pharmacy, childcare centre and medical centre, with stage one of the development expected to open in late 2019.
