Gourmet takeaway – Pie Face franchise

Sarah Stowe

Pie Face was founded in 2003 by Wayne Homschek and Betty Fong; it is a fully integrated retail bakery cafe chain specialising in gourmet pies, sausage rolls, coffee and other baked goods.

It has 49 stores located in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast with plans to have a national footprint in the near future. Pie Face both owns and operates stores as well as franchises them, with 12 company owned stores and 37 franchised.

The company produces all of its food product in its central kitchen facilities in Marrickville (with the exception of bread) and ships this product to its Sydney stores daily and to its interstate distributors weekly (who distribute to the retail stores three or four times a week).

Investment in a Pie Face franchise varies from about $200,000 to $1.75 million according to store size and location. For more information on the franchise opportunities, please go to www.franchisepieface.com.au
