New Crust stores to serve pizza by the slice at MCG

Crust Gourmet Pizza is to open five new pizza bars at the Melbourne Cricket Ground just in time for the AFL opening match between Richmond and Carlton tonight.

Pizza with a choice of four toppings, and served by the slice, will be hand-made on site at the MCG.

About three-and-a-half tonnes of fresh ingredients will be used to create Crust’s gourmet pizza slices at the MCG over the first match weekend – that’s the combined weight of the Richmond team’s players!

Crust co-founder and managing director, Costa Anastasiadis, said the decision to partner with the MCG was an easy one following the successful launch of Crust pizza by the slice concept stores at Sydney International Airport and Westfield Sydney.

“Crust is already enjoyed by sports lovers at home, so it is a natural evolution for us to open these stores in the MCG. At Crust, we’re all about making takeaway food fresh and delicious so we’re excited to deliver slices by the box to fans at the MCG — you can buy one just for yourself or shout the whole row if your team is winning,” Anastasiadis said.

What’s on the menu?

The concept sites will dish up Peri Peri Chicken, Meat Deluxe, Vege Supreme and Italian Sausage (available exclusively at the MCG).
