Greg Nathan, founder of the Franchise Relationships Institute, has been recognised for outstanding leadership at the International Franchise Association (IFA) 2018 Convention in Phoenix.

The Crystal Compass Award is given each year to an individual who epitomises the ideals of leadership and has made a significant contribution to the franchise community through their work.

Nathan said “A lot of US franchisors have contacted me saying how pleased they are that I received this award, because our books and training programs have really helped them to run better franchise networks.

“I have been regularly travelling to the US now for 17 years, training franchisor executives from large and small brands, and sharing our research and tips for best franchising practice.”

Nathan has also been an active member of the IFA’s Franchise Relations Committee, helping it restructure educational programs to meet the emerging needs of franchisors and franchisees.

FRI has just launched a new Positive Franchising initiative for the Australian franchising community, which includes a Franchisor Excellence Masterclass to be held in Melbourne at the end of March, and which shows franchisor executives how to achieve world’s best franchising practice.

“I’ve been involved in franchising now for 40 years, and am excited to be researching and developing new programs to help franchisors keep their networks vibrant and healthy,” Nathan said.
