Gloria Jean’s earns praise at FCA awards

Coffee franchise, Gloria JeanÕs Coffees was awarded a double gong at Queensland’s recent Franchise Council of Australia’s regional Excellence in Franchising Awards, taking out the Franchisee Community Service award and the Field Manager of the Year title.

The Murrumba Downs store was presented with the Franchisee Community Service while Kylie Kernick was honoured as Queensland’s top field manager for 2011 for her ability to provide continual support, development and training to her franchisees.

Kernick is the operations manager for 35 Gloria Jean’s coffee houses in the territory of Townsville, South and West Brisbane and CBD locations and was congratulated for her committed involvement in building coffee house sales and ensuring profitability in each business.

Kernick attributed her success as an operations manager to the strong relationships built with her franchisees.

“I’m deeply honoured to be receiving this award. Our franchisees are committed, dedicated and hard-working, and I’m thrilled to play a part in their success and their Gloria Jean’s Coffees journey.”

Franchisees Melanie, Vanessa and Natasha Mammone were recognised for their engagement and contribution to community initiatives and activities, as well as their contribution and support to natural disasters, local community initiatives and medical charities.

They were also praised for their involvement in the Disaster Relief Fundraising for the QLD Premiers Flood Appeal, hosting a 12 hour trading and fundraising event.

Melanie Mammone said the ongoing generosity and support of the Murrumba Downs community and their team members throughout has been overwhelming.

“We have been truly moved by the generosity of our guests and IÕm very proud of the amazing support our team members have offered to these causes.”
