Ian Martin, general manager of Baskin-Robbins Australia, has resigned from the role after two years with the ice cream company.

Martin was employed by the parent company Dunkin’ Brands in December 2010, after the termination of Allied Brands as Baskin-Robbins’ master franchisee in Australia.

In his time heading up the Australian network Martin’s focus has been on rebuilding the Baskin-Robbins brand in Australia, including the focus on operational excellence, product line expansion, introducing world-class training systems and further developing the franchise partner network.

Baskin-Robbins is now looking for a replacement general manager. In the interim, the Australian market will be overseen by John Varghese, vice president – international.

Varghese said: “We would like to thank Ian for his contributions to the Baskin-Robbins brand in Australia over the past two years, and wish him well for all future endeavours.

“Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin’ Brands remains fully committed to the Australian market, and we look forward to continuing to grow and develop.”

Earlier this year the ice-cream chain unveiled a new store design.

  • Baskin-Robbins has more than 6,700 points of distribution in nearly 50 countries.
