Domino’s classic reigns supreme

It appears that attempts by pizza franchise, Domino’s Pizza, to reinvent its 50 year old Supreme recipe have paid off, with the classic pizza flavour overtaking the Meatosaurus as the number one seller.

CEO Don Meij said that the Supreme pizza had been neglected for too long, and after conducting research which found that only 45 per cent of people would buy the old recipe, the franchise decided to develop a new one.

“We are thrilled with the end results – a tastier Supreme pizza with real rasher bacon, 100 per cent Aussie ground beef and now a new zestier tomato sauce,” he said.

“What’s more important is 82 per cent of people would buy the new Supreme”.

This means that the new, rejuvenated flavour takes over Meatosaurus as the number one selling pizza in Australia.

According to a Facebook poll which ran this week, 43 per cent of the almost 1,400 people who voted thought the best change to the recipe was the new rasher bacon.

Meij said social media plays a significant role in the company’s campaigns. “We have more than 30,000 fans on Facebook and 3,000 followers on Twitter and it’s a great way for us to connect with our customers and seek their feedback and opinions about what we are doing.”
