Dymocks adds online inquiry system

Dymocks, the franchised book retailer, has launched Know Before You Go, an online item inquiry system allowing customers to check book availability before visiting in store.

The inquiry system updates data from store inventories every four hours and is designed to meet customer demand for more efficient and convenient book-buying methods without compromising on the in store experience. It is part of the franchisor’s multi-channel retail strategy.

Dymocks CEO Don Grover said “Dymocks has been in the book retailing business for 130 years and has led the way in the online space with Dymocks.com.au in Australia since 1997. WeÕve been able to build the Know Before You Go function within our website as we have one Point of Sale system across all our Australian Dymocks stores.”

There are plans to roll out the Know Before You Go system to Dymocks’ New Zealand and Hong Kong stores.

“This system opens a window for customers into our large network of stores across Australia. Establishing Know Before You Go has also introduced the development of exciting applications for mobile devices which are currently underway.” concluded Don Grover.
