Niche fitness franchise Xtend Barre boasts a brand new look for its Australian studios.

Fresh clean lines and a slick mono colourway signal the brand refresh which is showcased in the newly opened Lane Cove, Sydney outlet.

The ballet-inspired fitness business was launched in the US in 2012 by former dancer and Pilates instructor Andrea Rogers.

In Australia Xtend Barre is part of the Collective Wellness Group (CWG). Fellow brands under the CWG umbrella include industry stalwart Anytime Fitness and high tempo workout chain Orangetheory Fitness.

Nick Cowpar is group design and fit out manager for CWG. Cowpar points to the US as the source for design inspiration.

“The key features we have bought across to Australia are the backlit LED feature X, and the new logo,” he explains.

Another major change to the concept was upgrading the retail space and making it more of a focal point.

The Xtend Barre new look

“We have moved away from the teal and yellow, which were in the older studios and have adapted the black and white colour scheme throughout while incorporating the dark brown timber floors and grey furnishings to give it same look and feel of the Preston Hollow studio,” Cowpar said.

“We have also worked closely with our Australian architect to ensure the bathrooms are modern and fresh and they continue the scheme of white subway tiles with a feature black grout and black bathroom fittings.”

The fresh fitout will be rolled out across the chain as new studios open and existing studios refresh their space.

Xtend Barre has 23 outlets around Australia and continues to grow. According to CWG each studio attracts about 60 new clients every month.
