As of 31 March, William Angliss Institute will be offering a brand new Diploma of Franchising, developed in response to the growing number of opportunities for potential franchisees.

The course, which can be completed from home, offers to teach individuals all that is required to become a franchisee and run your own business, as well as assisting franchise organisation’s head office field personnel.

The Diploma involves two on-site workshops with franchising industry experts, which will take place at the Institute’s La Trobe Street campus. Assessments can be posted online and participants will have access to their teachers and classmates through interactive discussions and online activities.

Course participants will be educated on developing and managing relationships with all stakeholders in the franchise sector, including quality customer service, budgets and financial plans and legal issues and regulations affecting franchising. They will also learn from industry experts including Glenn Hindson from Nando’s, Peter Fiasco from Quest Apartments and Katherine Sampson, founder of Healthy Habits.

The Diploma of Franchising will have a strong emphasis on applied learning and is the only course in Australia to focus on the growth areas of food service and accommodation.

Glenn Parker, Diploma of Franchising teacher, said “As a former franchise owner, I can see the tremendous benefit of studying franchising, especially before investing over $200,000 and signing a franchise contract. There is a wealth of opportunities, particularly for those considering a career in the food service and accommodation sector … I’m looking forward to sharing my own experiences and helping to educate those who want to learn more and reap the benefits of this fast growing industry”.
