Stacey Gilbert, national franchise manager, said that locations where new roads are being built tend to impact on where territories exist.

“We are growing our available territories,” she said.

“At this point, the majority of growth areas are in metropolitan areas in Sydney and Melbourne.”

She added that regional areas like Orange, Bathurst, Tamworth, and Geelong are also areas of focus.

This comes as a new franchise model is implemented which incorporates an added sales assistant for the franchisee. Originating the US, the new model will be offered to franchisees with developed territories or multi-unit operators.

“We’ve implemented this new model in Australia in a small way,” said Gilbert.

“We’re now in a phase of working with suitable franchisees.”

The initial investment of a Snap-on franchise starts at a $50,000 upfront deposit under the privately funded credit program which provides for complete start-up costs including franchise fee, training, mobile store, stock and working capital.
