RFG appoints marketing guru

Food franchisor Retail Food Group Limited (RFG) has hired a new head of marketing, coffee retail.

Bronwyn Powell is a senior marketing, digital transformation and innovation specialist with 30 years’ experience in business change and transformation strategy.

RFG’s coffee retail divisional director, Jevon Le Roux, said that Powell joins the business with extensive experience leading the way with brave and disruptive campaigns sure to shake up the group’s coffee retail brands.

“Bronwyn has touched many global, iconic brands from fast moving consumer goods to retail and quick service restaurants, leading change strategy through development and execution, as well as customer experience strategy across all touchpoints,” he said.

“She will be responsible for heading up the marketing department and teams in the burgeoning coffee retail division at RFG and leading change strategies to reposition the Gloria Jean’s Coffees brand system, as well as accelerate growth of the Cafe2U and The Coffee Guy networks.”

Powell’s experience spans cross various industries where she has worked on brands such as YUM Brands – KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, as well as SPC, Kellogg’s and 20th Century Fox, with her most recent role at McDonald’s Australia, where she led one of the largest innovations in McDonald’s history; the development of the ‘Create Your Taste’ brand digital restaurant experience and menu which transformed the in-store customer experience.

“Bronwyn has a proven record of success and is known for having a passion for innovation and conceptual thinking, with the ability to deliver inspiring transformational change,” said Le Roux.

Powell said she is looking forward to reigniting consumers’ love for RFG’s coffee retail brands.

“I look forward to re-engaging Australian consumers’ love for the Gloria Jean’s Coffees brand, and boosting the mobile coffee division at RFG, through disruptive, innovative growth and engagement marketing campaigns,” she said.
