Professional accommodation franchise, Quest Apartment Hotels has unveiled a new property in Melbourne’s Docklands region, the network’s largest to date.

Around double the size of the average Quest property, Quest NewQuay is the fourteenth tower completed by property developer MAB Corporation, bringing the company’s total investment in the precinct to over than $2.5bn.

Craig Ryan, Quest Apartment Hotels chief commercial officer said the Quest NewQuay project addressed the growing demand for professional accommodation and housing services that has accompanied the Docklands population boom.

“The Docklands has grown to become one of Australia’s most vibrant precincts and will continue to attract families, business travellers and tourists for years to come,” Ryan said.

“The demand for serviced-apartments in this area is growing each year and we’re very proud to deliver the City of Melbourne’s largest number of two and three bedroom apartments.”

The Docklands region has experienced significant growth over the past few years, attracting more than $12bn in private investment as part of its urban renewal plan, with Quest the latest franchise brand set to capitalise.

Geoff Ward, Development Victoria Group head of precincts said the introduction of Quest NewQuay would served as an integral component of the region’s developing professional precinct.

“The Docklands has now matured, evidenced by the fact that the area is home to 11,000 people and 60,000 workers. It also attracts millions of visitors each year and is home to some of Australia’s largest domestic and international headquarters, so Quest NewQuay is well positioned to service visitors and corporate travellers in the area,” Ward said.

Quest NewQuay is first of the brand’s nine new property reveals slated for the next two years across Australia, New Zealand and the U.K., with an additional tower set to open in Victoria and three more in Western Australia.
