Poolwerx welcomes new franchise partners as demand surges

Sarah Stowe

For Poolwerx, the start of the pandemic triggered a strong surge in client demand.

“People are spending more time at home – and there are signs they’ll continue to do so, even when the crisis eases,” says Poolwerx CEO and Founder John O’Brien.

“Home has become the new base for work, study and play and there’s an opportunity for home services like Poolwerx to dive in.”

He responded by taking the unusual step of reducing the cost of a Poolwerx franchise from $99,800 to $59,800.

“With unemployment set to rise, this is an ideal time for people to get into a recession-resistant business like ours,” O’Brien says. “A $40,000 discount will help Australians do just that.”

New stores opening

Over the next three months, five franchise partners will be opening the doors of their new Poolwerx store. Three are in New South Wales, at Castle Hill, Mosman and Baulkham Hills. One is in Adelaide, South Australia and there’s another in Jimboomba, Queensland.

“Five more are in the pipeline, due to open before the end of the year,” O’Brien says. “We also have a number of stores going through refurbishments over the next few months.”

More than a discount

The discount is just one of the benefits franchise partners can expect.

“For a start, we have a great track record,” says O’Brien. “Poolwerx has been helping people flourish in business for more than 28 years with our excellent range of pool services and products.”

Poolwerx offers different ways to join the network, such as buying an existing business, converting an existing business or becoming a mobile franchise partner. Franchise partners can also build their income with multiple revenue streams including a retail shop front, residential pool servicing, and a business-to-business model which involves servicing commercial pools and establishing partnerships.

“This helps safeguard against troughs in any particular sector and to cushion a business against a retail downturn,” O’Brien says. “It also provides an opportunity to increase overall profits, which should be a key priority of any franchise brand.”

Certified technicians

All new Poolwerx franchise partners receive expert training and support from Poolwerx Support Centre.

“Our in-house Pool School teaches everything you need to know, including specialised areas such as spa and hot tub management,” says O’Brien. “We also share the concepts and skills that will help you to succeed in your day-to-day business operations.”

As a fully-fledged franchise partner, you can then take advantage of additional training in the areas that interest you most, such as marketing, bookwork, IT and more.

“We offer training support from our regional business development managers, our Poolwerx support centre staff in Brisbane and frequent interaction with fellow franchise partners,” O’Brien says. “This is reinforced by information and modules at monthly business meetings, our annual convention, training from our Partners in Profits (suppliers) and development season workshops. As Australia’s largest franchise network of Pool Retail Stores and Mobile Service Units we’re committed to helping our franchise partners succeed.”
