Plus Fitness unveils 200th club in ANZ

Australian owned and founded gym giant Plus Fitness has unveiled its 200th club for Australia and New Zealand.

The latest addition to the expanding gym chain is Plus Fitness Ryde in Sydney, and with the latest opening comes confirmation there is no sign of the business slowing down – there are already another 45 territories sold and at various stages of opening.

Plus Fitness director Gordon Martin said We’re excited to expand the network of health clubs, with a strong pipeline of Plus Fitness franchises to open in near future.”

There are yet still more scheduled to open across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

Plus Fitness 24/7 first emerged in the fitness arena two decades ago in 2011 when a 24-hour gym was the hot new business model.

Over the course of a decade the Aussie-born brand expanded across the country and into New Zealand, India and East Timor.

Over the years Plus Fitness has received multiple awards including Emerging Franchisor of the Year in 2013, national recognition from Franchise Council of Australia.

In 2020 ASX listed Viva Leisure Limited acquired Plus Fitness . With Viva Leisure Limited already operating brands such as Club Lime and Hiit Republic, this launched them into becoming the third largest fitness operator in Australia. 

The Plus Fitness 24/7 franchise model offers its franchisees extensive support from its Sydney head office. The model is turnkey and is designed to provide franchisees with a consistent and regular income in a low staff, fast paced environment.

The gym chain is reporting a network-wide turnover of more than $100m and an industry that boasts over $2.2 billion in revenue annually.
