Global franchise chain Pizza Hut has penned a five-year agreement with Coca-Cola Amatil to be the sole beverage supplier for its 285 restaurants in Australia.

The move marks the first time in 48 years that Coca-Cola will be available for purchase at the fast-food chain.

The beverages will be rolled out in Pizza Hut restaurants in the coming weeks alongside new cold drink equipment.

“Coca-Cola Amatil’s range of products has proven to be popular with our customers,” said CEO of Pizza Hut Australia Phil Reed.

“We are very excited to be working with such a strong business partner, and one which shares our commitment to the customer experience.”

Managing director of Australian Beverages, Peter West, said the agreement reflected the strength and popularity of Amatil’s beverage range which also includes Sprite, Mount Franklin and Barista Bros.

“This is the beginning of a strong new relationship with one of Australia’s largest pizza restaurant and home delivery chains – 285 restaurants selling more than three quarters of a million pizzas each year,” West said.

“It means more Australians can enjoy a great beverage alongside a great pizza.”

West said that its other business partnerships with Hungry Jack’s, Red Rooster, Oporto and Hilton Hotels provide solid building blocks for the growth of Amatil’s Australian Beverages.
