Mobile oven cleaning franchise, Ovenu, has kicked off its NSW expansion, signing up a new franchisee and bringing the national total to 22.

Matthew Chambers, Ovenu’s NSW state director, said the franchise is focusing on NSW, and more specifically Sydney, for its latest round of franchisee recruitment.

“We see it as a large and considering the economic times at the moment, there are opportunities there for people who want to start their own business,” he said.

The franchise now has two franchisees in NSW, but is hoping to triple this by the end of the year.

“I’d be nice to say that I had half a dozen franchisees by the end of the year. Slowly but surely we’ll get there,” Chambers told Franchising.

Chambers said the Ovenu system is an attractive one for anyone looking to manager their own business and work flexible hours. The turn-key cost is $39,900 and each franchisee gets an exclusive territory once they’ve signed on

The offer is pretty good,” Chambers said. “It’s a low cost operation with low overheads and we’re looking at supporting any new franchisees with advertising incentives.

“The ovens come up exceptionally well and it’s a fairly simple business to operate. You’ve got flexibility with your work and you can plan it and do it as you like,” he said.
