Mexican quick service restaurant franchise Zambrero has appointed Brett Hannah as its Chief Operating Officer.

Hannah is set to report to general manager Karim Messih and will be responsible for daily management of Zambrero’s national operations and building and design teams.

Franchise management and new product development will also be part of his role.

Hannah brings about 22 years’ experience in Australian food retail, including the opening of more than 100 retail outlets for a number of key brands.

Zambrero currently has over 80 restaurants in Australia with a further 10 scheduled for opening in the next two months.

Hannah joins Zambrero from Gloria Jean’s Coffees, where he managed national franchise support and national projects. Prior to that worked for Baskin Robbins and was part of the team who launched Krispy Kreme in Australia.

“I’m excited to join a brand with so much potential, driven by fantastic young people with big dreams and a genuine social responsibility. The Zambrero culture is focused on people, both inside and outside the organisation - and the food is fantastic,” said Hannah.
