Bedding retailer Snooze recently held its annual awards ceremony at the Melbourne Town Hall, with the brand’s top performing franchises celebrated for their hard work over the past 12 months.

The awards span a number of categories, from excellence in retailing to supplier of the year, and a number of awards recognise and reward individuals.

Rob and Sally McLennan’s from Snooze Mile End in South Australia were named Retailer of the Year.

Their store reported strong sales growth and fared well in the mystery shopper category, which looks at the quality of customer service stores offer.

The couple have been involved with snooze for 19 years, and in that time they have continued to build and grow their business.

Four stores also received an Excellence in Retailing award:

  • Tweed Heads, New South Wales
  • Ballina, New South Wales
  • Mornington, Victoria
  • Capalaba, Queensland

Lloyd Craske of Snooze in Moore Park took out the Store Manager of the Year award after he not only fulfilled but exceeded a strict set of judging criteria and demonstrated an ability to grow the business dramatically over the past year.

Highly regarded 25 Years in Service pins were awarded to Rob and Gemma Murphy from the Snooze store in Logan and Wagga Wagga franchisees Dean and Ann Evely.

The company’s managing director, Simon Beaty said the conference proved a great time to share ideas and discuss the future of the brand.

“Without the ongoing commitment and drive from our franchise partners and their employees, we would not be reporting the year-on-year growth that we are currently seeing,” he added.

Snooze has also confirmed that it plans to open seven new stores by the end of the year.

These include sites in:

  • Warrawong
  • Tamworth
  • Coffs Harbour
  • Launceston
  • Albury
