High performing franchisees from Hairhouse Warehouse, Action Coach, Mr Rental and Mortgage Choice have been recognised in a national event for the franchising sector, the Excellence in Franchising Awards.

Tony Zoobi was named the Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year. In his acceptance speech the Hairhouse Warehouse franchisee said it was a privilege to be recognised by his peers and described the franchise founders, directors Tony and Joseph Lattouf, as visionaries.

He dedicated the award to the 100 plus franchisees in the Hairhouse Warehouse community.

“I moved from Melbourne to Brisbane and then to Sydney in 18 months because I believed in [the brand]it,” he said.

Zoobi opened the first outlet in Brisbane and six more stores in Sydney over a six year period.

Mr Rental South West franchisee Michael Caddy was the winner of the Franchisee of the Year (two or more staff) award. He praised the support and set-up of the Mr Rental franchise system.

The South West franchise opened in 2006. “We’ve worked hard to mould the team that can run the business,” Caddy added.

For Bruce Campbell, named Franchisee of the Year (less than two staff), his franchise business Action Coach has doubled turnover to more than $1 million in two years.

“What we do is homegrown, and I love that we’re teaching the world about business,” he said.

The Franchisee Community Service award was handed to Mortgage Choice franchisee Greg Campbell, for the second consecutive year. An emotional Campbell accepted the award for his fundraising and volunteering work with Camp Quality, the charity for children affected by cancer.
