Franchise print and design chain Kwik Kopy has partnered with 2012 AFL Premiership Champions Sydney Swans for a design competition and has just announced the winner.

Taking out the top slot is Prabs Kundu, designer for Kwik Kopy at Moonee Ponds. Wendy Johns of Kwik Kopy in Surry Hills was in second place and Charlotte Maundrell and Kirstin Sinclair from the Richmond Kwik Kopy store were awarded third place.

The annual Red Flame Awards is open to Kwik Kopy and 121 Creative in-house designers. This year the contest was a brand refresh project for the Swans’ Red Rookie program which aims to recruit junior members to the Club.

Richard Baker, head of innovation for Kwik Kopy, said the competition is an opportunity for designers to have their design works recognised.

“We understand the time and effort that designers go to in order to enter the Red Flame Awards.  So this year, we wanted to find a project that could showcase the tremendous depth of talent amongst designers at Kwik Kopy,” he said.

“Working with the Sydney Swans presented a terrific opportunity for both the individual’s portfolio and the company as a whole.”

Michael Martin, fan development executive for the Sydney Swans, said the Kwik Kopy design entries featured innovative promotions and logo designs that captured the judges’ attention.

“The Red Rookie brand presented a significant challenge for the Kwik Kopy designers, so we were delighted to see how accurately and effectively the final entries were delivered.”

The brand refresh ideas put together by Kwik Kopy design and print experts will be used to reinvigorate the Red Rookie program with a fresh look and feel ready for the 2014 AFL season.
