Retail sales boost for OzSpy franchise chain

Electronic security franchise group OzSpy has recorded back to back record monthly sales through its stores in November and December.

And according to OzSpy managing director Craig Mitchell the spike had nothing to do with a Christmas spending spree.

“Traditionally our stores don’t benefit from spending splurges in the lead up to Christmas or immediately after due to the fact that our spy gadgets don’t normally make it to Christmas gift lists. What has made the difference is that CCTV sales to business customers have increased considerably” he said.

The increase in sales to the commercial sector is positive news for OzSpy as the business repositions itself in the market away from the ‘spy shop’ image and gains recognition for its CCTV provisions for both domestic and commercial customers.

“We launched a new commercial security website, improved our systems and provided additional training to our franchisees and managers in this field,” said Mitchell. “And it is producing results. More and more these days we are witnessing a shift to being regarded as a reputable and professional CCTV provider that also sells spy gadgets.

“This is great news for our franchisees and anyone contemplating investing in an OzSpy franchise as the additional profits that are gained by improving commercial sales are the icing on the cake” Mitchell said.

The business was established in 1998 as a single store in Brisbane, Queensland. They commenced franchising in 2003 and have 10 stores throughout Queensland, Victoria and now Western Australia.

OzSpy stores provide a wide range of security systems and surveillance equipment for households, small and medium businesses and also larger commercial operations and public infrastructure sites.
