Retail Food Group has announced a new role in its business, head of procurement.

Frank Alessio will be leading the franchisor’s commercial division from the company’s Tullamarine office.

Previously Alessio was vice-president – procurement and supply chain at Melco-Crown Entertainment, managing centralised service functions supporting properties in Macau. Before that he was responsible for restructuring the procurement and supply chain capability for General Motors in Russia.

RFG’s director of commercial, Craig Faulkner, said Alessio has experience in “overcoming adversity to develop and implement long-term sustainable solutions”.

“He will be responsible for leading the transformation of RFG’s procurement function and will provide strategic oversight to the team while supporting the company’s evolving global status and driving internal procurement and supply chain operations,” Faulkner said.

This new role is the fifth major appointment in the last three months for RFG, which added head of international development, a bakery and cafe director, director of coffee retail, and head of marketing.
