Regional awards celebrate WA franchising excellence

The WA Excellence in Franchising Awards gala dinner was held at the Burswood Entertainment Complex in Perth on 27 August to celebrate regional success across the franchise sector.

Bronwyn Butcher, owner and director of Frontline Retail Perth was named the WA Franchise Woman of the Year. Butcher has sustained year-on-year growth for nine years and has previously received the 2008 WA Franchisee of the Year Award and the 2009 Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year Award.

Butcher mentors up-and coming female franchisees within the system and is a regular participant in women-focused business groups, where she regularly gives key-note presentations and advice.

Michael Caddy, franchisee with Mr Rental South West, took out the WA Franchisee Community Service Award. In the last financial year alone, his franchise store donated more than $10,000 to charities. Caddy also received the WA Franchisee of the Year — 2 or more staff award.

Looksmart Alterations franchisee Fadi Mikhael took out the WA Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year award.

Franchise couple Diane and Darrell Doust at PoolWerx were named WA Field Managers of the Year.

The Awards showcase has travelled to VIC, NSW and SA, with QLD/NT gearing up for the Gala Awards night on the 10 September. National winners will be announced on the 12 October at a Gala National Awards dinner, held as the finale to the 2010 National Franchise Convention.
