Quest Apartment Hotels St Leonards collects major award

Nick Hall

The pair behind serviced accommodation franchise Quest Apartment Hotels St Leonards property has secured a major accolade.

Franchise veterans Ann Crowhurst and Brent Howard were named Single Unit Franchisee of the Year at the Franchise Council of Australia’s (FCA) New South Wales regional awards.

David Ridgeway, Quest general manager – franchise operations said the Quest Apartment Hotels St Leonards duo was akin to the needs of the local community, operating a business that was not only successful, but people-focused.

“Ann and Brent understand their guests, their communities and the business they’re in, so we’re thrilled to see their work being recognised by the industry,” Ridgeway said.

“They’ve invested a lot of resources in the training and professional development of their staff. They’ve also promoted local businesses, supported local community groups and donated to local charities to build an environment that people want to be part of.”

It’s been a categoric rise for the franchise duo. Crowhurst and Howard opened the Quest Apartment Hotels St Leonards property in 2016 and quickly rose through the network’s ranks.

The St Leonards location has been Quest’s top NSW franchise for two years straight, with this latest accolade capping off a successful run.

“We’ve stood by the principle that if we invest in our people the business will succeed. We’ve been lucky enough to extend this principle to all areas of the business, so this award shows what dedicated franchisees can achieve under a proven business model,” Howard said.

Mary Aldred, FCA CEO said the awards ceremony was an opportunity to recognise the enormous amount of work that often goes unnoticed in small business.

“The outstanding effort by the franchisees who took out the awards and their achievements as successful small to medium business operators shows the positive impact franchising can have on employment, the economy and the community,” Aldred said.

“The businesses run by these franchise owners are fantastic examples of small to medium size businesses achieving great results in a tough environment and setting the benchmark for franchising in NSW.”

The latest sector recognition follows a successful run for Quest, which was recently awarded the nation’s first 5-star franchise rating by independent consultant FRANData.
