It was Queensland’s turn to celebrate top performance as the regional Excellence in Franchising Awards gala took place on 10 September. Action Coach franchisee Bruce Campbell was named Queensland Franchisee of the Year, Less than 2 staff, while Carolyn McManus, franchisee with The Coffee Club, scooped the Queensland Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year award for the second year running.

Campbell has been ranked as the leading business coach among 1200 Action Coaches globally and the franchise has doubled its sales in two years, jumping from $514,000 in 2008 to more than $1 million in 2010. An investment in a CRM program to manage prospects and clients increased productivity and improved customer service.

McManus operates four Coffee Club franchises and employs 57 staff within a structured management system that includes a general manager, accountant, group quality and assurance manager and group training and marketing manager, as well as store managers.

Jo and Maurie Patterson, Bakers DelightHR Coach, took the award for Queensland Franchise Woman of the Year.

Next stop for the regional winners across all states will be the gala national awards dinner on Tuesday 12 October, held as the finale to the 2010 National Franchise Convention.
