Potato Corner recruiting franchisees in NSW and ACT

Sarah Stowe

Fast food franchise Potato Corner is geared up for expansion in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. The brand offers a unique concept of flavoured French fries, and is on the lookout for franchisees.

On top of the French fry offering in an array of flavours, the brand also features fried chicken combos and jacket potatoes.

“Our main focus is in Sydney metro, regional areas, and the Australian Capital Territory (which are) close to train stations,” says Jan Flores, master franchisee of Potato Corner New South Wales and theAustralian Capital Territory.

Food courts and shopping centre outskirts are ideal locations for the brand, which has two New South Wales outlets currently open; the company owned Blacktown store, and the Mt Druitt franchise.

Flores says the brand is open to setting up shop in other states and recruiting more franchisors to manage franchises. The business has been in operation for 24 years with over 500 branches in Asia and the United States. He adds that the French fry flavours localised for the Aussie palate, alongside its other menu offerings.

“The concept is unique,” says Flores. “The flavours are delicious and addictive.”

The ideal franchisees, in his view, are “willing to grow with the brand, have a hands on approach”, and understand that they are running a business and “it’s not just an investment.”

The franchise is a turnkey model with an initial investment cost of $230,000- $250,000, operational, systems and marketing support. Local consultants are available, as well as head office support.
