PoolWerx‘s 2010 West Australian Franchisees of the Year, Irene and Ian Hughes, have claimed another award, taking out this year’s Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year title at Western Australia’s Excellence in Franchising Awards.

Since starting with a single man-in-a-van concept in 2003, the husband and wife duo have expanded their business to cover five franchise territories, operating a commercial mobile business in Perth City and four retail stores in Hillarys, Beldon, Joondalup and Currambine. They also have eight mobile vans servicing the domestic market.

Irene said the couple were thrilled to win the award after facing tough competition in the category.

“There are a lot of dedicated franchisees throughout Western Australia so we are ecstatic to be recognised with this prestigious award,” she said.

“It is very rewarding to know all our hard-work has paid off and we are especially grateful to our team who consistently put 110 percent into everything they do.”

The couple will now represent Western Australia at the national awards in Melbourne in October.

“We are really looking forward to competing with franchisees around the country and we hope we will do WA proud,” Irene said.
