Pizza goes square at Dominos

The pizza franchise Domino’s Pizza is giving its customers the opportunity to enjoy a box full of pizza – quite literally. The chain of 522 outlets across Australia and New Zealand has introduced the Square Puff pizza for $7.95 pick up. Don Meij, Domino’s CEO, said “You can’t get any better than a box full of pizza – our Square Puff goes right to the edge and fills the whole box.

“Our customers expect great value from us and we are committed to continuing to offer fantastic products at a great price. However, at the same time we want to push the boundaries and give customers a unique product packed full of premium quality ingredients which still offers value,” he said.

In addition to the puff-pastry crust option which is available in traditional or value pizza, Domino’s is also launching the Double Beef and Bacon pizza topped with mustard and mozzarella cheese.

Last week the Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd business announced a $17.8 million full year Net Profit After Tax (NPAT), up 16 per cent on last year. The profit was generated by total network sales of $694.3 million, with same store sales for the year up 2.8 per cent on the previous year.

During the 12 months to 4 July 2010, Domino’s added 54 stores to its network, 41 of those in Europe and 13 outlets across Australia and New Zealand. The year-end store count was 823.
