Food franchise Oporto has launched its bespoke version of a traditional Portuguese food cart to bring its flame-grilled chicken to special events.

The Oporto Sobre Rodas (Oporto on Wheels) will make its official debut this week at the HSBC Sydney Sevens Rugby.

With a hint of the popular tuk tuk, the vehicle is fitted out with a grill, refrigeration and built-in music system and is decked out with a tile motif which proclaims its Portuguese heritage.

Inspiration from Portugal has been seen in the launch last year of the Pequeno or small stores, and the brand campaign filmed on Portuguese streets.

Althought this mobile food option is a corporate exercise right now, the company is looking at ways to introduce a similar model to franchisees in 2018.
