Noodle Box back in Tasmania after franchisee exit

Stir fried noodle chain Noodle Box has stepped in and re-opened its Tasmanian outlets following the departure of the company’s franchisee for the region.

The stores will operate as company-owned sites in the short term until Noodle Box secures a new franchisee, which it hopes to do as soon as is practicable.

The Kings Meadows, Mowbray and Devonport restaurants are currently in operation under the direct management of Noodle Box, and the Burnie restaurant is scheduled to reopen by August 22.

Noodle Box CEO Ian Martin said the company was happy to be re-opening in the state. “It means a great deal to us to be able to provide secure job opportunities and careers as well as business opportunities for local Tasmanians.

“We are also deeply pleased we can continue to provide our authentic and fresh Asian-style street food to our guests, who have supported us through this brief recent period of uncertainty,” he added.

Alison Jarman, job placement coordinator of Max Employment said she was pleased to see Noodle Box return to Tasmania – the stores have opened up a total of 37 employment positions, all of which have been filled.

“Max Employment has been more than happy to make training venues available to Noodle Box, permitting them to interview and then train up the new team.

“I think Noodle Box has set a great example for Devonport retailers. I hope the community get behind them and all their new team members. It’s great to see retailers supporting the communities in which they operate,” she explained.
