Niche business launches franchise
Talbot Doors has granted its first franchise and has plans to sign up another four franchisees this year.
The business is an automatic door service and installation company servicing the facility management industry.
More than 40 per cent of the industry’s revenue comes from maintenance services and the firm has built relationships with large commercial operations including CBC, CBRE, CI Australia,, Knight Frank and JLL.
Fixing broken doors and safeguarding security and safety is at the heart of the firm, which began trading in 1985.
It has since launched its own brand of automatic sliding and swing doors, trackless bifold gates and in 2013 started manufacturing aluminium doors and frames.
Automation and modernisation are essential to the design process of new commercial properties and the increasing trend for smart home automation also provides Talbot Doors with business opportunities.
This is a franchise that suits individuals with a sound technical background and some electrical knowledge.
First franchisee Tek Temel has taken on the Western Sydney region.
“Starting with a stream of steady work and planning on building the business even larger is something that would have taken years to accomplish if I started my own business, if I could get to that point at all," he said.
“My training was comprehensive, and the ongoing support is fantastic thanks to everyone in the Talbot team, all the way from the management, to individual techs."
As a well-established specialised service provider Talbot Doors plans New South Wales expansion before extending its franchise across the Eastern seaboard.
Investment in a brand new franchise territory starts from $139,000 for a five year term with one option to renew for a further five years. DC Strategy is handling franchise recruitment.
