New COO for Zambrero

Sarah Stowe

Mexican food franchise Zambrero has welcomed a new member to its management team, chief operations officer (COO) Gina Kim.

Kim has more than 15 years of operations and marketing experience, having previously held roles at companies including Western Union, Ezypay and Commonwealth Bank.

She was most recently employed as the national operations and business manager at Video Ezy and Blockbuster.

The role saw Kim lead and manage the company’s new DVD vending kiosk business and she played a part in not only helping it meet, but exceed its national year one growth targets.

Having been a franchisee herself, Kim brings a unique understanding of the franchisee/franchisor experience to Zambrero.

“I’m excited to work with the passionate team at Zambrero and founder, Dr Sam Prince to further develop operational policies and procedures whilst opening new restaurants,” she said.

“I’m joining a company that believes in the provision of food to those in need, improving the lives of millions of people around the world.”

Given both her professional experience and personal values, Zambrero’s general manager, Karim Messih believes Kim is perfect for the role.

“Gina is a great fit with the growing Zambrero team, with strong franchising credentials, proven strategic capabilities, and alignment with the company’s humanitarian values.”

He added Kim will play an important part in driving Zambrero’s expansion both within Australia and abroad in 2014.

“Gina will lead the operations department to deliver systems management, operational procedures, staff development and training and financial reporting.”
