New chief for Red Rooster

Sarah Stowe

There’s a new face at Red Rooster, as Chris Green takes up the role of CEO at Australia’s largest roast chicken restaurant chain. Green has spent 27 years working locally and internationally for McDonald’s, most recently as vice president, operations and franchising in Malaysia.

Rob Coombe, CEO of parent company Quick Service Restaurant Holdings said “I spent a lot of time with Chris going through the plans that we have for the brand over the next couple of years and he has lots of exciting ideas as well. I am very impressed with his energy, expertise, resilience and passion for results. Chris is set to be a huge asset to our company and I’m really looking forward to having him on board.”

After re-launching the brand last year, Red Rooster has focused on menu innovation and customer experience, removing all artificial colours, flavours and added MSG from its kitchen-made menu, and broadening the salad offering.

Green said “We have an amazing opportunity to turbo charge the sales growth of our existing restaurants through delivering an exceptional customer experience, refurbishing restaurants inside and out, and introducing great new menu options.

“We will be opening even more restaurants leading to opportunities for both current and new franchisees. In addition to this we have a strong innovation pipeline with our soon to be launched “Red Royalty” app which will reward our loyal customers as well as provide on-line ordering for our growing home delivery business.”
