Inside Franchise Business: Kevin Waite is the new CEO at Australian Skin ClinicsA new chief executive is heading up national medi-aesthetics company Australian Skin Clinics.

Kevin Waite brings 17 years of experience to the CEO role – he has led the Brumby’s Bakeries business, was general manager of Ribs ‘n’ Rumps, and in perhaps his toughest gig grappled with a failing business model when he was brought in to turn around the troubled Pie Face chain.

Now he takes on the less daunting challenge of expanding the 59-store strong beauty clinic franchise across the country.

Waite’s appointment comes as the company prepares for strong growth, and Ella Rouge salons continue to rebadge to Australian Skin Clinics.

Waite said “I’m very pleased to be joining the Australian Skin Clinics team. I’ve seen just how far the company has come in recent years and I’m looking forward to being part of the planned growth as the business moves into a new era of progression and development.”

Further expansion from its Queensland home base into New South Wales is the plan; the first Western Australian outlet has also just opened.

Director of Hairhouse Warehouse and Australian Skin Clinics, Gavin Nixon, said Waite’s appointment is a great step forward for the business and its franchises.

“Kevin’s experience is second to none when it comes to knowing the ins and outs of how to run a franchising model and with how rapidly Australian Skin Clinics is expanding, it’s great to have someone on board who can bring a breath of new experience and skills to the table,” he said.

Australian Skin Clinics founder and former managing director, Deb Farnworth-Wood, remains a director of the company and a member of the board.
