A wealth of new brands and franchise models were on display over the weekend at the Melbourne Franchising and Business Opportunities Expo.

The final expo of the year, the Melbourne show is traditionally the largest, with over 100 exhibitors from across the country and abroad showcasing the latest industry models and franchise systems.

New franchises making their expo debut this year included courier and shipping franchise, World Options, Cyber-security brand Cybercillin and skeletal fitness gym, Osteostrong.

In global news, multi-national pizza chain, Papa John’s launched its Australian expansion search at the event, with the Malaysian Franchise Association showcasing the very best of the country’s franchise offerings.

Event organiser, Tim Collett said the event provided franchisors with the best opportunity to meet motivated people who want to get into their own business.

“It’s great to see so many exhibitors here, it’s been one of the best shows we’ve had, certainly one of the best looking expos that I can remember,” Collett said.

“It’s also great to have the Malaysian Franchise Association back again, showcasing the very best of what some fantastic franchises have to offer.”

The event also provided a series of insightful and enriching seminars, including keynote speeches from industry icons such as Jim’s Mowing’s Jim Penman and Poolwerx founder John O’Brien.

For new brands, or franchises looking to expand their offering in Victoria, the Melbourne expo delivered a strong platform from which to grow, with high foot-traffic and public interest.

Off the back of successful expansion in South Australia, casual dining health bar, Delicia used the expo to launch into the Victorian market, which founder, Scott Dempster said has been invaluable.

“It’s been the perfect way to introduce people in Victoria to our brand. Our franchise is ready to take off and it’s the right time to be here,” Dempster said.

The Franchising and Business Opportunities Expo will return next year, with the first show in Sydney from 23-24 March 2019 at ICC Darling Harbour.
