Former forensic accountant David Bay has traded in his calculator to open a mobile coffee franchise with The Coffee Guy in Canning Vale.

“I liked the concept and the people; I listened to what was said and was ready for a career change,” said Bay.

“After meeting the supportive team and researching the business, I felt secure in my decision to own my own van and be the first ‘The Coffee Guy’ in Western Australia.”

However, lifestyle was the biggest contributing factor for Bay when he made the decision to move into the mobile coffee market.

Coffee is a totally different industry for me, but I was attracted to the work-life balance that The Coffee Guy provides, it’s exactly what I’m after,” he said.

The mobile coffee brand has further expansion plans targeted in Western Australia throughout FY16/17 with 20 potential franchise territories in Perth, and 12 in regional centres.

The initial investment cost of a franchise starting at $43,000 + GST and cost considerations are limited to vehicle costs (registration, service, insurance and fuel), franchise fees, loan repayments and stock control.

The model includes full training, and throughout the life of the business, additional and ongoing support provided by the management team to provision all aspects of the business. The network also offers refresher training, guidance, marketing and advertising support to all franchise partners.
