Jamaica Blue unveils 120th cafe

Nick Hall

Australian-owned franchise café, Jamaica Blue has reached an impressive milestone this week, announcing the opening of its 120th store.

Since launching over 25 years ago, Jamaica Blue has amassed a stellar national and international network. The chain has more than 170 cafes across seven countries, with the latest expansion in sub-regional New South Wales capping off a solid start to 2019.

Located at Richmond Marketplace in outer-western Sydney, the new milestone inclusion is set to open on May 23.

Housed under the Foodco banner, which also includes franchise cafe giants Muffin Break, the chain is inspired by and named after the Jamaica Blue Mountains, widely regarded as the home of the world’s best coffee.

At the 2018 Golden Bean Coffee Roasters Competition, Jamaica Blue picked up seven awards, following from a 2017 year that saw the brand crowned out the Overall Large Franchise Champion.

It’s a reputation that new franchisees, business partners and Richmond locals Gary and Harry will be looking to continue.

The pair said they were excited to start preparing fresh Jamaican-inspired dishes and grinding up award-winning coffee for their local community.

To mark the occasion, Jamaica Blue is offering free coffees all day on Friday, May 24 at the new Richmond store.
